By 1893, Chicago was the second largest city in the country. It was expanding rapidly with major hotels, a large retail shopping district, metal frame office towers, buildings to house the arts, cable cars and elevated trains. Learn how Chicago developed into a world class city and how the millions of visitors who attended the World's Fair spent their time in the city. We’ll also taste food that may have made its first appearance at the fair or around 1893, including all-beef hot dogs and sweet treats like Cracker Jack.
This tour includes a full-sized hot dog, caramel corn and a brownie that can be eaten along the way or taken home with you. Beverages are not included, but you can bring your own. Please note, however, that open beverage containers may not be allowed on all tour stops.
